The Mets’ game against the Phillies got rained out on Thursday — the team’s sixth postponement already this season. They could’ve sulked, they could’ve complained, they could’ve cried their eyes out that they would not be playing baseball yet again.
Instead, like five-year-olds at a summer birthday party, they decided to have some fun in the wet weather. Catcher Tomás Nido was dared to slip ‘n’ slide across the infield tarp and, well, Tomás Nido does NOT back down to a dare.
Excellent execution and distance. Although, nothing will ever top the greatest baseball tarp performance in history.
