Inclement weather continued to interrupt the Orioles’ first homestand on Wednesday, when for the second time in three days, they had their scheduled game against the Mariners postponed due to rain.
The two teams will play a single-admission doubleheader on Thursday beginning at 12:35 pm ET. Game 2 will begin approximately 45 minutes after the first game concludes.
Fans holding tickets for Thursday’s originally scheduled 1:05 p.m. game can use those tickets for both games of the doubleheader, the team announced in a release. Tickets for Wednesday’s postponed game will not be automatically honored for Thursday’s doubleheader, but Birdland members with tickets and parking passes may exchange their value for any future 2021 regular-season home game, including Thursday’s doubleheader.
Gates will open one hour before first pitch at 11:35 a.m.
The Orioles and Mariners had the opener of this four-game series postponed Monday, making it up as part of a split doubleheader Tuesday. Baltimore won the nightcap, 7-6, on Ramón Urías’ walk-off single.
Matt Harvey, who was scheduled to start on Wednesday against Seattle righty Justin Dunn, was looking for his first victory in his third Orioles start. Bruce Zimmermann was scheduled to start on Thursday for Baltimore; neither team has announced its pitching plans for the doubleheader.
